NOS Scheme

The National Occupational Standards (NOS) Scheme is a flagship initiative by the organization to empower youth through structured, skill-based training that aligns with industry requirements. Launched in 2019, the scheme targets individuals aged 18 to 35 years, equipping them with practical skills and certifications that boost employability across various economic sectors.

The program is part of a broader mission to promote inclusive growth by addressing unemployment and underemployment, especially in underserved communities.

Objectives

  • To promote skill-based education and vocational excellence.

  • To create awareness and alternatives to drug abuse and unproductive behavior.

  • To uplift marginalized groups through job-readiness and personal development.

  • To ensure employment linkages via certification aligned with national industry standards.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be an Indian citizen, aged 18 to 35 years

  • Should have at least Class 10th or equivalent education

  • Unemployed or underemployed youth seeking vocational training

  • Preference for individuals from economically weaker sections (EWS) or SC/ST/OBC backgrounds

  • Must not be currently enrolled in any other Central/State skill scheme

Application Process

  • Visit the official scheme website or nearest registered training center.

  • Fill the application form online or offline.

  • Upload required documents: ID proof, age proof, academic certificate, income proof.

  • Submit the application and receive confirmation SMS/email.

  • Attend counseling and skill mapping session.

  • Begin training as per allocated trade batch.

  • Appear for assessment and certification test upon course completion.

  • Get support in job placement or self-employment setup.
