The Social Justice Empowerment Council of India (SECI) is a dedicated organization under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, focused on creating nationwide awareness about social justice schemes and welfare initiatives. SECI plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between policy and people by promoting the Department’s programs to marginalized and vulnerable groups—such as Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, denotified and nomadic tribes, transgender individuals, and those affected by substance misuse.
By forging strategic partnerships with civil society, legal aid bodies, and grassroots networks, SECI ensures that every corner of India becomes aware of their legal rights, entitlements, and access to government schemes. Their holistic approach—encompassing campaigns, outreach, training, and service platforms—helps build an inclusive, equitable society where constitutional promises translate into real empowerment.
To bridge the gap between policy and people by promoting awareness, facilitating access to government schemes, and partnering with grassroots networks to ensure empowerment reaches the most underserved communities across India.
We envision a socially just India where every individual, regardless of background, identity, or ability, has full and equal access to all government welfare schemes.
SECI is dedicated to empowering citizens by spreading legal awareness and knowledge about their entitlements. Our focus is on building inclusive systems that effectively reach the last mile and ensure no community is left behind. By bridging inequalities and fostering equity in underserved and vulnerable populations, we aim to create a more balanced and fair society.
Through transparency, collaboration, and inclusive outreach, SECI strives to strengthen public trust in governance and make welfare truly accessible for all.
Leveraging print, digital, broadcast, and social media to spread knowledge about rights and schemes, with focus on rural and remote communities.
Conducting in-service training for government staff, frontline workers, legal volunteers, and NGOs, to ensure empathy and effectiveness in delivering welfare services.
In collaboration with NALSA and State Legal Services Authorities, SECI conducts legal camps covering acts like SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities), Senior Citizen and Transgender Protection acts, and more.
SECI organizes job fairs, health and drug abuse awareness programmes, disability services events, and senior citizen drives to promote active, educated participation in government schemes.
Providing access to helplines, legal aid platforms, and government portals ensures vulnerable individuals can reach out for assistance and clarifications.
